Ryan Bird joins the U's from Portsmouth
CAMBRIDGE United have signed Ryan Bird on an initial one month loan from Portsmouth.
Bird, 26, signed a one-year deal with Pompey in July 2013.
The 6ft 4" striker scored 45 goals in 45 appearances for Southern League side Burnham in the 2012/13 season.
Director of Football, Jez George, said: "Ryan is a player that we have tracked since we knew that Adam Cunnington needed surgery. He is a big, strong, mobile centre forward and he is exactly the type of player that Richard has wanted in order to give us options in attack during a spell with games every midweek and with Adam unavailable after his operation. We thank Portsmouth for their help with this deal and look forward to Ryan joining us.”
Cambridge United have recalled Bobby-Joe Taylor from his loan spell at CRC, he will be travelling with the squad to Dartford tomorrow.
