United progress to the third round of the FA Cup
SULLAY Kaikai's strike in the tenth minute secured United's place in the FA Cup third round this evening.
Kaikai recieved the ball on the edge of the Stags' box and fired his shot passed Sacha Studer, taking a defelction off Luke Waterfall on the way in.
An action packed game saw the hosts almost equalize immediately, Vadaine Oliver heading inches wide of Chris Dunn's goal.
United almost made it two on 20 minutes, Appiah escaped down the right but his pulled-back ball evaded the oncoming Kaikai and Blair.
Rakish Bingham forced Ian Miller into a fine block on 24 minutes, the resulting corner was cleared by United. Miller was again involved when his last-ditch block denied Ollie Palmer in the 31st minute.
United should have made it two on 38 minutes, the ball fell to Blair in the box, he found Chadwick who found Appiah but his shot was saved on the line.

The hosts started the second half brightly, Ollie Palmer heading over Dunn's goal on 48. Appiah was at the thick of it again on 53, he wriggled his way through the Mansfield back line but Studer again was there to deny him from close range.
Reggie Lamb fired wide of Chris Dunn's goal on 67 before Rakish Bingham's shot was deflected wide on 83.
The hosts did have the ball in the back of the net in the final minute of normal time after bundling home from a corner, however the Referee's Assistant ruled it out for offside.
United defended resolutely for the additional four minutes to secure a third round tie against Luton Town on the weekend of January 3 2015.
