YORK 2-2 U'S

United return with a point from Bootham Crescent.

GOALS from Tom Elliott and Kwesi Appiah earned the U's a point at Bootham Crescent this evening.

York City were on the attack within the first minute, Chris Dunn forced into a fine save tipping over the bar for a corner. Just two minutes later the hosts almost took the lead, Jake Hyde was thwarted by a fine point-blank save from Dunn after being put through one-on-one.

After six minutes, Tom Elliott went down in the York box, however the referee deemed it simulatiom and the U's front-man was booked. United took the lead on 27 minutes, Tom Elliott headed home at the far post from a U's free-kick.

The lead was doubled on 37 minutes, Elliot was brought down in the box and Kwesi Appiah cooly converted from the penalty spot for his second goal of the season. City pulled a goal back on 43 minutes, Jake Hyde poked home a cross at the near post.

The U's had a late flurry of chances, Liam Hughes' free-kick was well saved and Josh Coulson fired the rebound over and Kwesi Appiah's driven cross was inches away from Delano Sam-Yorke.
