U's host Morecambe on Saturday afternoon
CAMBRIDGE United host top-of-the table Morecambe on Saturday afternoon, on the back of a 2-2 draw at York City on Tuesday night.
The U’s currently sit in 13th place on four points, five behind tomorrow’s visitors.
Morecambe have won all three of their league games this season, defeating Dagenham and Newport before overcoming Oxford United, 1-0 on Tuesday night thanks to a goal from Kevin Ellison.
The last time the two sides met was February 2007 in the Conference Premier. The game finished 2-2 with the U's goals coming from Daniel Chillingworth and Charles Ademano.
Current Morecambe manager Jim Bentley was on the score sheet for the home side and Paul Lloyd levelled the game for the Shimps in the 82nd minute.
Right back Andy Fensome has played for both sides, making his début for United in 1989. He went on the play over 120 games for the club, scoring once in the league. In 1993, Five years after Fensome made his final appearance for the club, he signed for Morecambe and went on to make 125 appearances in the league before hanging up his boots in 2002.
Charles Breakspear will be in charge for the Sky Bet League Two fixture. Last time out he was in charge of Gillingham’s 2-2 draw with Swindon in League One. Darren Blunden and Michael George will be running the line, while the fourth official is Stephen Ross.
