REPORT: BURY 1 UNITED XI 1

U’s score late equaliser to draw

A goal late on from a trialist was enough to secure a draw away at Bury for a young Cambridge United XI on Friday night.

The U’s outfit made up of trailists, development players and scholars in Jordan Williams, Dylan Williams and Jake Chambers-Shaw, produced a solid performance, dominating the majority of possession and creating enough chances throughout the course of the 90 minutes to have perhaps won the game.

As it was United conceded the first goal of the match, with a close range header against the run of play giving the home side the lead in the first half.

However, the setback did not deter the Cambridge XI who continued to play well and were rewarded with an equaliser shortly before the final whistle.
